Twine & Barrel is a new bar and restaurant located on the outskirts of York in the Village of Dunnington. The old country pub has been entirely refurbished, creating a fabulous ambience using a mixture of leather, wood, metal and plush soft furnishings to provide a warm and inviting atmosphere for you to relax and enjoy the fine food and drinks on offer. Twine & Barrel is an all-day dining concept where you can meet friends or business colleagues for lunch or relax over drinks, bar snacks and supper.
Our food offering is the showcase of locally sourced fresh Yorkshire produce, creating a vibrant menu of lovingly cooked classic and contemporary dishes. A daily specials board complements our balanced seasonal menus all of which is overseen by our amazingly talented Head Chef, Chris Hemsworth.
We have a range of craft beers, locally brewed ales, exciting cocktails, the finest selection of wines from across the globe, locally distilled gins and a vast array of spirits. We serve great Lavazza coffee too!
A dedicated event space is available to book for business meetings, functions and workshops and for special occasions and private parties, whilst being able to take advantage of the huge amount of free on-site car parking space we can offer. Our team will look after your booking from start to finish providing great care and attention to detail to ensure your event runs smoothly.

Our Head Chef, Chris Hemsworth, has over 15 years’ experience in the kitchen, spending time working at some of Britain’s top hotel restaurants, including the world famous Savoy Grill by Gordan Ramsey. Chris will be combining his extensive knowledge and experience in both fine dining and Grill cookery with his passion for Fresh produce.
A Yorkshire lad himself, he champions high quality, local ingredients, designing his menus around food that is seasonal and delicious, devoting himself to the farm to table ethos.
